東照宮の本殿を守護するように建てられた唐門。胡粉で白く塗られている代表的な特徴を全面に出している。
吉田博の長男である遠志は、アメリカ各地をキャンピングカーで周りながら制作を行い、父から受け継いだ伝統木版画の技法を広く世界に普及させた。
また、野生動物を求めて南極やアフリカにも訪れ、動物の動きや様子をくまなく観察し、その本質に迫った作品を多く残している。
描かれた動物たちは、その種の生き様までも写し取られており、遠志が動物や自然に抱いていたであろう畏敬の念も見て取れる。

The Karamon Gate was built to protect the main hall of Toshogu Shrine. In this piece, Yoshida Toshi fully displays the unique feature of the Karamon being painted white with gofun (white pigment made from seashells).
Yoshida Hiroshi's eldest son, Yoshida Toshi, traveled around the United States in his campervan while creating artworks, spreading the traditional woodblock print technique inherited from his father throughout the world.
He had also traveled to Antarctica and Africa in search of wild animals, observing their movements and behavior in every detail. As a result, he has left behind many works that capture the essence of these animals.
The animals depicted in his artworks reflect their species' way of life, and we can see the sense of awe that Toshi must have had for animals and nature.
