This work is believed to have been created after the Meiji period, based on the type of pigments used. However, as no artist’s seal or signature can be found, the creator remains unknown.
It depicts Mori Ranmaru rushing to the side of his lord, Oda Nobunaga, during the attack at Honno-ji Temple. The intensity of Ranmaru’s expression conveys a powerful sense of urgency and devotion.
