美人画作品が有名な深水であるが、「伊豆八景」「信濃十景」など、風景作品も多く制作している。こちらは東京都大田区の池上本願寺を描いた大ぶりの一枚。東京では珍しく大雪が降ったようだ。雪かき中の様子からして、早朝であろうか。仁王門を見ると、縁起の良い伝説から近郷の人々に「福鳩」と親しまれた鳩たちも参じている。

伊東深水が18歳（大正5年）の頃、清方塾生による郷土会展に「対鏡」を出品したところ、渡邊庄三郎の目にとまった。木版画にすれば必ず良い作品が制作できると確信した庄三郎は、新版画の制作を決意。以後、大正5年から昭和35年までの間に130点を超える深水の新版画が制作された。
その後も、日本画家としても文展に入選するなど早くから注目を集め、文展、帝展、新文展、戦後に入って日展を主な舞台として活躍し、日本を代表する美人画家として認められていった。

Ito Shinsui, renowned for his beauty portraits, also created landscape pieces, including "Eight Views of Izu" and "Ten Views of Shinano". Presented here is a grand-scale artwork capturing Ikegami Honmon-Ji Temple in Ota Ward, Tokyo. An uncommon heavy snowfall seems to have occurred in Tokyo. Judging from the scene of a person shoveling snow, it appears to be early morning. Observing the Nio Gate, pigeons, affectionately referred to as "Fukubato," meaning "Pigeons that bring fortune" by locals due to an auspicious legend, are also present.

In 1916, when Ito Shinsui was 18 years old, an exhibition of the pupils of Kiyokata was held. Shinsui exhibited "Woman Looking in a Mirror" at the exhibition, and it fascinated Watanabe Shozaburo. Then Watanabe decided to start making woodcut print works of Shinsui, and later, he produced over 130 printworks from 1916 to 1960.
