岩亀楼は、横浜の居留地の外国人を呼び込む事を目的に作られた遊郭である。
広重二代は広重の門人で、当初は重宣と称していた。安政5年に広重が没すると、広重の養女お辰の婿になり、二代目広重を襲名する。広重の「名所江戸百景」にも参加し、全120図の内「赤坂桐畑雨中夕けい」には、「二世広重画」と款している。「市谷八幡」、「上野山下」、「びくにばし雪中」3点の作者も広重二代であるとされる。その後お辰と離別することになり、立祥と号し横浜絵、開化絵などの制作を続けた。

Ganki-Ro was a brothel built to attract people from abroad to the Yokohama Settlement.
Hiroshige II was a student of Hiroshige and was initially called Shigenobu, but after Hiroshige died in 1858, he became the son-in-law of Hiroshige's adopted daughter, Otatsu, and became Hiroshige II. He participated in Hiroshige's "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo" and "Evening in Rain at Kiribatake, Akasaka," one of the 120 prints in the series, is inscribed with the inscription "Painted by HiroshigeⅡ." It is also assumed that "Hachiman Shrine in Ichigaya," "Ueno Yamashita," and "Bikuni Bridge in Snow" were also created by Hiroshige II.
Later, he separated from Otatsu and continued producing Yokohama-e and Kaika-e paintings under another artist name: Rissho.
