清方の代表作でありつつも長年行方不明となっていた日本画「築地明石町」を、木版画作品として制作した一枚。当時は筒にいれた状態で販売されていた。

清方は年方の門下で、十代にしてすでにプロの挿絵画家として活躍していた。青年期に泉鏡花と知り合い、その挿絵を描いたことや、幼少時の環境の影響もあり、終生江戸情緒及び浮世絵の美とは離れることがなかった。
肉筆作品にも力を注ぎ、日本を代表する美人画家のひとりに数えられる。

This is a woodblock print of Kiyokata's masterpiece "Tsukiji Akashi-cho", a Japanese-style painting that has been missing for many years. At the time, it had been sold in a tube.

Kiyokata was a pupil of Toshikata and was already active as a professional illustrator in his teens. He became acquainted with Izumi Kyoka in his youth, and throughout his life, he continued to work with Edo sentiment and the beauty of Ukiyoe.
