Toyokuni III was a pupil of Toyokuni and took the name Kunisada. He took the name Toyokuni II in 1844. (In reality, Toyokuni III was the third generation of Toyokuni.) His painting period was long, and the volume of his works was enormous. He was especially known for his portrayals of actors and beautiful women, and he had the power and vigor to dominate the ukiyo-e world at that time. Shopping Guide & Information of the Japanese Prints
