関野準一郎は中学時代から版画誌を発行し、25歳で上京して恩地孝四郎に師事、棟方志功の教えも受けている。
木版、エッチング、リトグラフなどの技法を駆使し、風景や人物など多様な主題で60年近くにわたり制作を続け、国際的にも活躍した。
この作品では、師でもある棟方の肖像を描いている。

SEKINO Junichiro had published his own print magazine when he was a junior high school student and became a pupil of ONCHI Koshiro and MUNAKATA Shiko.
His technique isn't limited just a woodcut printing, he was also good at etching and lithograph. He is also popular from the oversea.
This print is the portrait of MUNAKATA Shiko who is his teacher of woodblock printing.
