白い霧から山々が立ち現れ、淡く色づく木々が秋の気配を感じさせる一作。 岩にあたってきらめく水しぶきが、山あいの静けさをいっそう引き立てる。
伊藤孝之は、大正から昭和にかけて活躍した絵師、版画家。京都高等工芸学校などを経て、25歳で東京美術学校に入学し、結城素明に師事、卒業後は鏑木清方に入門した。在学中から挿絵や版画を発表し、戦時中には作品の焼失や疎開を余儀なくされるも、戦後も80歳を過ぎるまで制作と発表を続けた。

Mountains emerge softly from the white mist, while gently tinted trees evoke the feeling of early autumn. Water splashing against the rocks glistens in the light, further enhancing the quiet stillness of the mountain valley.
Takashi Ito was a painter and printmaker active from the Taisho to Showa periods. After attending Kyoto Higher School of Arts and Crafts and other schools, he entered Tokyo Fine Arts School at the age of 25, where he studied under Yuki Somei, and after graduation became a student of Kaburaki Kiyokata. While still a student, he produced illustrations and prints, and although his works were destroyed by fire during WW2 and he was forced to evacuate the area, he continued to produce and exhibit his works after the war until he reached his 80th birthday.
