北野恒富（1880 - 1947）は、明治から昭和前期にかけて活躍した浮世絵師、日本画家、版画家。石川県に生まれ、幼い頃から絵を描くことを好んだ。12歳から彫り師の門下を転々としたのち、芳年門下の稲野年恒（としつね）に入門した。年恒の元で彫り師としての仕事を続けていた恒富であったが、19歳の頃に嫌気がさして彫刻道具を橋上から投げ捨ててしまったのだという。その後は、小説挿絵や美人画の名手として名を馳せた。
当時、東京では鏑木清方、京都では上村松園、そして大阪では恒富が官展や院展で長く活躍し、明治から昭和まで大阪画壇を牽引していた。

KITANO Tsunetomi (1880 - 1947) was an ukiyo-e artist, Japanese-style painter, and printmaker active from the Meiji era to the early Showa era. Born in Ishikawa Prefecture, he loved to draw pictures from an early age. At the age of 12, after working under different carvers, he was apprenticed to Inano Toshitsune, a pupil of Yoshitoshi. Tsunetomi continued to work as an engraver under Toshitsune, but when he was 19 years old, he became fed up and threw his engraving tools off a bridge. After that, he became famous as a master of novel illustrations and paintings of women's portraits.
At that time, Kaburaki Kiyokata in Tokyo, Uemura Shoen in Kyoto, and Tsunetomi in Osaka had long been active in the Kan-ten and In-ten exhibitions, leading the Japanese art from the Meiji to Showa periods.
