巴水は昭和５年に新居を建てるが、その資金捻出のために酒井川口との仕事をしたという逸話が残る。
酒井川口合版は文字通り「酒井好古堂」と「川口」の合同会社で、版元の酒井が作品制作にあたり、貿易商の川口が輸出販売を担当していた。基本的に初刷が100枚、二刷が350枚刷られたとされている（例外あり）。昭和6年に酒井と川口の協力関係は終了した。

川瀬巴水は元々日本画家として活躍していたが、大正7年に発表された伊東深水の木版画作品「近江八景」に感銘を受け版画家に転向した。
その後は新版画の第一人者として活躍し、約40年にわたる画業のなかで多くの版画作品を残し、その数は600点にも及ぶ。
巴水の特徴的な青色はその場の空気さえも宿す深い味わいを持ち、「巴水ブルー」と称される。

Hasui built a new house in 1930, and an anecdote remains that he worked with Publisher Sakai & Kawaguchi to raise funds.
Publisher Sakai & Kawaguchi was a joint venture of "Sakai Koko-do" and "Kawaguchi," with Sakai as the publisher in charge of producing works and Kawaguchi as the trader in charge of export sales. It is said that 100 editions were printed for the first edition and 350 for the second (with some exceptions). The cooperative relationship between Sakai and Kawaguchi ended in 1931.

KAWASE Hasui was originally active as a Japanese painter but switched to printmaking artist by being impressed by ITO Shinsui's woodblock artwork "Eight Views of Omi" published in 1918.
After that, he became active as a leading artist of the Shinhanga field, and left behind many print works in his 40 years of painting, numbering over 600.
Hasui's characteristic blue color is called "Hasui Blue" because it has a deep impression that even includes the atmosphere of the places that are sketched.
