This artwork is a depiction of the beautiful woman who has attractive and beautiful eyes.
We can also feel her elegance from the depiction of the hand which is touching softly on the hair-pin colored light green and the beautiful kimono in a softened color tone.

In 1916, when Ito Shinsui was 18 years old, an exhibition of the pupils of Kiyokata was held. Shinsui exhibited "Woman Looking in a Mirror" at the exhibition, and it fascinated Watanabe Shozaburo. Then Watanabe decided to start making woodcut print works of Shinsui, and later, he created over 130 printworks from 1916 to 1960.
