女性歌仙の歌と当時の現代的な美人を組み合わせたシリーズ「風流女六歌仙」より。
コマ絵には清少納言の札が置かれている。札には、
「便りある　風もや吹くと　松島に　寄せて久しき　海人のはし舟」
とあり、良い風が吹かぬかと松島に小舟を寄せて長いこと待っている海人のように、私もあなたからの便りをずっと待っているという内容。本絵に描かれた女性も歌のように何かを待っている様にも見える。

英山は父に次いで鈴木南嶺に絵を学んだ。更に幼馴染だった北渓を通して北斎派の画風も習得している。
歌麿の急死後に新進の絵師として現れた英山。物柔らかく、どこか儚さの漂う英山独自の美人画は、新しい時代の美人画をリードするものとなった。英山は文化中期から文政中期に美人画の揃物を多く制作、2枚続の掛物絵に全身美人を描くスタイルを広めた。

This artwork is the combination of the beautiful woman who is in current style of the era and the poem of Sei Shonagon who was one of the Rokkasen. Rokkasen is the 6 selected best poets.
The poem on the card which is on the upper-right is about the fisherman who is waiting for the good wind by the Matsushima island for a long time. It is a suggestion of the heart of the lady who is waiting for a letter from someone. The lady who is on this artwork also looks like she is also waiting something.

Eizan had learned the painting technique by his father, and later learned from Suzuki Nanrei. He also studied the techniques of Hokusai school by Hokkei who is Eizan's childhood friend. His name had became known as an Up-and-coming Ukiyo-e artist after Utamaro died suddenly. The depicted beautiful women created an atmosphere including the kind of impermanent beauty, and these artworks had led the new wave of the period.
