Gallery Soumeido is pleased to present an exhibition of works by Seimiya Naobumi.
Seimiya is a printmaker who expresses his serene and poetic world of the mind mainly through woodblock prints.

Seimiya says, "It is impossible to expand the outer world, but it is infinitely possible to expand the inner world."

This is the most often quoted phrase when discussing his work. Seimiya has traveled through his inner world, and with his carefully chosen forms and deep, clear colors, he has created lyric poetry that expands infinitely in his small woodblock prints.

Seimiya also describes himself as follows.
If I had to choose the least resistant of the many occupational categories, it would be 'poet.'"
"I am a poet who uses the medium of painting as a form of expression."

Seimiya's works were originally few and were collected by a few enthusiasts, so many people did not easily see them. In recent years, however, many museums have collected Seimiya's pieces, and exhibitions of his works have been held to ensure that they have captured the hearts and minds of the public.

We have gathered together a collection of quiet yet passionate works that penetrate deep into the viewer's heart.
