広重の出世作である東海道五十三次の版元・保永堂は、翌年より「木曽街道六十九次」を発刊する。はじめ起用された絵師は英泉だが、24図を描いたのちに広重が引き継ぎ、6年ほどの歳月をかけて全71図が完結した。

Hoei-do, the publisher of Hiroshige's success work "53 Stations of the Tokaido" (1833-34), began publishing "69 Stations of the Kisokaido" in the following year (1835).
At first, Eisen was the artist in charge, but Hiroshige took over after publishing 24 works. The publisher also moved to Kinjyudo during the process, and it took about six years to complete the 71 illustrations in total.
