The artwork depicting "Takeda Shingen's attack on Minobu."
Shingen demanded Nichijo Shonin to surrender Mt.Minobu, but he refused, saying that he could not surrender the sacred mountain where goddess Shichimen Daimyojin resided.
Shingen was angered by his answer and he rushed to Mt.Minobu with a large army.
According to the legend, at that time, the river was replaced by a rushing stream and the entire mountain became a god of war, repelling the Takeda army.
The army behind the goddess Shichimen Daimyojin is the cedar trees of Mt.Minobu that turned into the god of war. The line of cedar trees still remains today as the "War God Cedar".
Yoshimune was an Ukiyo-e artist active from the Edo to Meiji periods. He was a pupil of Kuniyoshi.
